This module discusses the issue of medication non-adherence, its prevalence and potential effects. The factors associated with non-adherence for an individual are then identified. The second part of the module is a pathway to identify and address non-adherence in practice. The model used starts with engagement using a health belief model, establishing joint goals between clinician and patient and then identification of specific interventions to enhance adherence for the individual. The learning objectives of the module are to increase awareness and knowledge of the issues surrounding non-adherence and provide skills to address nonadherence for clinicians
