There are an increasing number of services for the diagnosis and management of autism spectrum conditions in adults. This module links to the recent BAP guidelines on autism and specifically focusses on autism in adults. We review in turn the presentation, aetiology, diagnosis and management of autism in adults building on evidence-based findings. We then review the presentation, assessment and management of a hypothetical case of an adult with autism.
