Judith Pratt
Society for Biology Week
Professor Judith Pratt and a team of postgraduate Neuroscientists and NeuroEngineers from the University of Strathclyde engaged with the public at the Glasgow Science Centre during Society for Biology week in Oct 2013. The team were embedded in the 'BodyWorks' exhibition and over 4000 visitors from 4 years to 80 years old passed through the doors of the exhibition during the 2 day 'Who needs a Brain' event. Visitors learnt about how 'neuroscientists' study the brain and how technologies are being used for the treatment of brain disorders. In a fun way they were able to participate in tests that assess their neuropsychological function and got the chance to see their own brain activity using a wireless EEG headset in a virtual environment setting, demonstrating just how powerful their brains are.
